HOW TO GET CLEAR - 3 EASY TIPS

CLARITY is everything

- we aren’t getting ANYWHERE if we aren’t clear.  Good luck trying to drive from Chicago to Idaho without GPS.

Unfortunately, we don’t always have a personal gps to get us from point A to Point B when we are trying to navigate our life. More often than not, we can get stuck in brain fog, aka what keeps us in the dark and disconnected.

I believe it is one of our ego’s most clever tools to distract us from delivering our gifts to the world.

Having been there myself, I want to be your GPS. I want it to be easier for you.

Before I share my tips to help you achieve great clarity, I think it is important to distinguish between the 4 types of clarity:

  • Physical Clarity

    • How do you feel in your physical body?

  • Mental Clarity

    • How clear your mind is?

  • Emotional Clarity

    • How aligned are you inside your heart?

  • Spiritual Clarity

    • How connected and tuned in are you to something greater than you?

I find it important that we master getting clear on all realms so we can get from point A to point B with greater grace, ease, and velocity.

Let’s explore some tips on how to get and stay CLEAR:

1. CREATE YOUR PERSONAL” PEAK STATE” – “WINNING DAILY FLOW”

Below will help with clarity on all 4 realms; however, you do not need to implement them all at once. If you are just getting started, best to pick one at a time. Move at your own speed.

  • HAVE A DAILY SPIRITUAL PRACTICE: This gets to be specifically designed for you and will look different for everyone.  Some of my favorite include: prayer, breathwork, meditation, journaling, walking in nature, having a conversation with God/your inner counselor/whatever you believe in.  The most important thing is that you have a spiritual practice and you practice it daily. This will help you stay plugged into something greater than yourself and co-create each day. It will also help you feel calmer and more centered when you are faced with adversity or unforeseeable events.

  • DRINK WATER:  Let’s be honest, we are generally dehydrated.  Many of us are eating when we are actually thirsty.  We underestimate how important enough water is to our physical well-being and daily ritual. I always shoot for drinking a gallon of water a day.  I take a glass water bottle with me throughout the day to fill up 4+ times. I also drink a big glass of water when I wake up and before bed. Herbal tea & hot water with lemon are also great options.

  • SWEAT:  There is no “best” or perfect workout formula.  It’s important you move your body in ways that feel good and sweat.  I always suggest 5 times a week.

  • EAT CLEAN: I use the formula 80% Nutrition, 20% Fitness, 100% Mindset.  You can’t outwork a bad diet. It’s essential we get lean protein and veggies in our diet, daily.  Eat within an hour of waking up. Eat small lean balanced meals every 2-3 hours. Make sure you’re getting 1/3 lean protein and 2/3 complex carbs at every meal.

  • LAUGH: How can you incorporate some form of joy in your day?  Research has found that happier people produce more. Whether it's watching something funny, calling a hilarious friend, or busting out in a few ridiculous dance moves, laughter is essential.

  • EXECUTE: What are your profitable hours?  What are the windows of your day where you can sit and do uninterrupted work?

  • CONNECT: How can you connect with someone deeply each day?  This can be a family member, a business partner, someone next to you in the airport.  Human connection is a huge part of our personal needs.

  • ELIMINATE TOXINS: Sugar, salt, unsaturated fat, plastics, anything that you know does not agree with your body and creates brain fog.  Nothing is great in excess. The goal is to be mindful of what works for you so you get to know your body and better clear your mind.

2.   IDENTIFY AND GET RID OF YOUR TOP DISTRACTIONS

Distractions can sometimes be sneaky. The ones that typically come to mind first are social media, television, texting/messaging, etc. However, while those are distracting, in my opinion, I would place those in the category of procrastination. They are not ultimately what stand in your way from accomplishing your goals.

However, what distracts and can potentially prevent you from executing on your mission and getting your gifts out into the world are usually hidden in plain sight.

Do you predominately put other people’s needs in front of your own?  Have you ever told yourself you don’t know enough yet to go for it? Do you eat to numb your feelings? Have you ever had a whole conversation centered around the unfair advantage others have over you?

THESE ARE THE REAL DISTRACTIONS…. and are what keep you from doing what you were put here to do!

We are all human, we are going to have moments, but behaviors and beliefs such as the ones above, are the real distraction. Eventually you will put the phone away but some people will spend a whole lifetime talking about what they wish they could do instead of fucking DOING IT!

You are NOT that person.

There is no perfect time. No perfect post. No perfect body. Screw perfect.

Instead, when these distractions come up, call it out, give it a name, own it {{without judgement}} and show it love. Love is what will ultimately heal it.

Let me give you an example:

When you start to feel yourself being jealous of something someone has you desire, call it out and name it “Jealous Janet”. Have a laugh with Janet & give her love. While jealousy can happen, indulging it is a distraction. The success of others is not the threat, being jealous of other instead of celebrating their success is the real threat.

It is important to mention, while certain behaviors may be “undesirable”, it did serve in some-way and therefore is nothing to beat yourself up about. I like to use the example of someone who bites their nails. While biting your nails is not considered a “good” habit, it is a stress reliever so being without can cause more stress for the individual until they were ready to change. It may take 3,4 or 10 attempts to stop and that is okay. Again, it takes time to feel comfortable without the old habit. Be gentle while you are changing and growing!

3. CREATE YOUR WINNING “PLAYBOOK”

A lot of people have great ideas and big visions, but very few have an actual plan to bring them into reality.

In my last blog, I spoke about the importance letting go and allowing the “how” to come.  However, a business framework and execution strategy is essential to move things forward. I see so many people with such fantastic ideas and drive fail because they didn’t have the strategy to get the job done.

So how do I create a winning “Playbook”?

1. Find a Mentor

Find someone who has been in your shoes before so you can seek professional guidance.  You don’t get an award for doing it the hard way and/or all on your own. In fact, you’re going to spend a lot more time trying to do this alone. Find someone you can trust and will give you honest feedback. Asking for help does not mean you are weak, in fact, it usually take more courage & strength!

2. Identify Your Strengths and Weakness

Build a team of people to support your weakness. Look for people with different gifts, perspectives, backgrounds. Diversity is so valuable. This will give you a comprehensive team to help ensure all the gaps are filled!

3. Ask Yourself The Below Questions:

What is going to last long term?
What is the simplest system to deliver this service? Can it be easily replicated?
What a heartfelt way to keep my customers enjoying the experience?
What are the first 3 steps I can take to move this forward?

4. Create a 90-Day Plan

Creating 1, 3 or 5 year goals give you direction; however, they can also be overwhelming and confusing. You could never know all the steps it will take to achieve a 5-year goal. To make it more manageable for you, identified your long-term goals and then create actionable steps you can take in the next 90 days. This is additionally beneficial because you will be able to measure your results and asses what is and isn’t working, without investing a huge amount of time.
